The November 7, 1884 issue of The Star of Zion. The Star of Zion is the newspaper of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church issued every Friday. This issue included a typed version of Rev. A. Hill's speech on the prosperity of the church.

This is a photograph of Mrs. C. C. Hook, wife of famous Charlotte architect. She was the president of the Charlotte Woman's Club from 1909-1911, and established the High School Parent's Teachers Association (PTA) in 1915.
